Nightwood

$1,200.00

20×16 Inches

Acrylic on Canvas

2024

Nightwood develops the glyph system through repetition, variation, and interval, building a dense field whose order emerges without a fixed center or image. Each black form is applied by hand and placed in direct relation to the next, so that the composition accumulates like a score: not through narrative, but through recurrence, displacement, and internal balance. What appears immediate is governed by a closed logic, with each unit gaining force from the structure forming around it.

The contrast between the dark glyphs and the lighter ground gives the work its clarity and tension, allowing density to build without collapse. The painting reads less as pattern than as counterpoint—independent forms held within a larger system, each distinct but inseparable from the whole. Like all Glyph Paintings, Nightwood is a singular original, executed directly and resolved as a complete composition whose coherence depends on the precision of its construction.
